Treasury guidance coming

Following a year of regulatory rollback, the Department of Treasury is expecting to issue regulatory guidance during the second quarter 2018 to implement:

  • 29 projects, including those priorities resulting from the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act legislation enacted on December 22, 2017
  • Guidance published (or released) during the period from October 13, 2017 through December 31, 2017.

These projects are expected to provide helpful guidance to taxpayers on a variety of tax issues important to individuals and businesses in the form of: (1) revocations of final, temporary, or proposed regulations; (2) notices, revenue rulings, and revenue procedures; (3) simplifying and burden reducing amendments to existing regulations; (4) proposed regulations; or (5) final regulations adopting proposed regulations.

So stay tuned--should be a busy quarter on the regulatory front.
