Rebecca Godkin

Director

Rebecca is a Director with TaxOps, LLC. Rebecca’s primary area of emphasis is accounting for income taxes, in accordance with both U.S. GAAP and IFRS. Rebecca has extensive experience preparing and reviewing income tax provisions. She is intimately familiar with the income tax provision complexities associated with uncertain tax positions, business combinations, share-based compensation, foreign subsidiaries and affiliates, foreign currency transactions and translations, intraperiod and interperiod tax allocations, detailed tax planning strategies and the evaluation of valuation allowances. Rebecca has worked with some of the largest publicly-held companies in the world as well as local privately-held enterprises. Rebecca has developed and delivered training, nationally and locally, for both FAS 109 and IAS 12. Rebecca’s income tax provision expertise is built upon a strong foundation of technical tax compliance, including tax accounting for natural resources.

Rebecca began her public accounting career with KPMG, LLP focusing on tax compliance for oil and gas and hard mineral companies. In 2002, she began a 2 ½ year assignment in Paris reviewing the income tax provisions of foreign registrants’ SEC filings to ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP. Upon her return to the United States, Rebecca worked with KPMG’s department of professional practice reviewing the tax provision workpapers of audit clients to ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP and SOX 404. In 2007, Rebecca moved to Deloitte Tax, LLP as a member of their National FAS 109 Competency Group, providing primary authorship of Deloitte’s FAS 109/IAS 12 reference manual. In addition to these behind-the-scenes activities, Rebecca maintained a client base for which she prepared, reviewed or consulted on income tax provisions.

Rebecca graduated Cum Laude from the University of Colorado, Boulder, in 1988 with a B.S. in Accounting and in 1989 from the University of Denver with a Masters in Taxation. She is a member of both the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Colorado Society of CPAs.
